LOWELL -- The American Textile History Museum has launched Suited for Space, an exhibit that takes visitors on a journey through nearly a century of spacesuit design and development, from the earliest high-altitude pressure suits to the iconic white suits worn by Apollo and Skylab astronauts.

The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) in collaboration with the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum developed the exhibit.

It opened recently and runs through March 3 in the museum's special exhibition spaces.

The museum, located at 491 Dutton St., Lowell, will be open during the holiday period on Dec. 19-23 and Dec. 26-30 at 10 a.m.
