Reeves Memorial Run Oct. 12
The 9th annual Gregory E. Reeves Memorial Scholarship Run will be held Oct. 12, rain or shine. Registration for the 4.6-mile run/walk is at 8:30 a.m., the race starts at 10:30. Registration and the starting line are at Townsend Common in the town's center, at the intersection of routes 119 and 13.
Cash prize, lunch are provided.

David's Harp concert Oct. 13
The First Baptist Church of West Townsend's David's Harp ministry to the elderly, those with multiple handicaps and the hurting, is sponsoring another great concert on Oct. 13. Vocalist and recording artist Frank Rendo will be with us, along with over a dozen of our own church musicians for a sing-along concert of best-loved hymns. Frank has recorded CDs of gospel, inspirational and Broadway music, and performed an amazing concert for us in June. Our Oct. 13 concert will be held at 1:30 p.m., at a time when those in assisted-living communities and group homes can attend.
Fall roast pork supper Oct. 19
The Townsend United Methodist Church will host a fall supper on Saturday, Oct. 19. The menu will be roast pork with gravy, mashed potatoes, butternut squash soup and rolls, coleslaw, peas and carrots, along with delicious homemade desserts.
Serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., dinner is eat-in or take-out.
The price for adults is $10, seniors $9, children $5, and children under 6 years, free. The Meetinghouse Church on the Hill is located at 265 Main St. in Townsend Center at the junction of routes 13 and 119. Call 978-597-2486 for information.
May award banquet Oct. 26
The 13th Annual William E. May Endowment Fund Award Dinner on Oct. 26 will honor Susan and Ken Gerken. The award recognizes individuals for their commitment and unselfish acts of kindness to the well-being and quality of life for the residents of Townsend.
The event, presented by the Friends of the Townsend Seniors and the Endowment Fund Committee, will take place at 6 p.m. at Townsend Ridge Country Club, Scales Lane.
