Batteries Saturday at the Townsend Post Office
Boy Scout Troop 81 Townsend will be fundraising at the Townsend Post Office from 9 a.m. to noon. They will be selling Interstate batteries of all sizes, AAA, 9 volt, AA, C, D and flashlights.
So stop by and stock up and be prepared for the winter season
Card-making class Oct. 5
The Townsend United Methodist Church will host an Iris Card-making Class on Saturday, Oct. 5, 3-5 p.m. Supplies will be included in the class fee of $15. Please call 978-597-2486 to register.

The Pepperell and Townsend business associations will host State Treasurer Steve Grossman: 6:30 p.m., appetizers; 7 p.m., speaker. Location: Senior Center, 37 Nashua Road, Pepperell. Reeves Memorial Run Oct. 12
The 9th annual Gregory E. Reeves Memorial Scholarship Run will be held Oct. 12, rain or shine. Registration for the 4.6-mile run/walk is at 8:30 a.m., the race starts at 10:30. Registration and the starting line are at Townsend Common in the town's center, at the intersection of routes 119 and 13.
Cash prize, lunch are provided.

Fall roast pork supper Oct. 19
The Townsend United Methodist Church will host a Fall Supper on Saturday, Oct. 19. The menu will be roast pork with gravy, mashed potatoes, butternut squash soup and rolls, cole slaw, peas and carrots, along with delicious homemade desserts.
Serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., dinner is eat-in or take-out.
The price for adults is $10, seniors $9, children $5, and children under 6 years, free. The Meetinghouse Church on the Hill is located at 265 Main St. in Townsend Center at the junction of routes 13 and 119. Call 978-597-2486 for more information.
May award banquet Oct. 26
The 13th Annual William E. May Endowment Fund Award Dinner on Oct. 26 will honor Susan and Ken Gerken. The award recognizes individuals for their commitment and unselfish acts of kindness to the well-being and quality of life for the residents of Townsend.
The event, presented by the Friends of the Townsend Seniors and the Endowment Fund Committee, will take place at 6 p.m. at Townsend Ridge Country Club, Scales Lane.
