Townsend Rod and Gun Club Ice Fishing Derby: Registration will begin at 7 a.m.; the derby will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be held at the club pond, off Emery Road, on Dann Colburn Way, just off Route 13. There will be direction signs posted along the way. Entry fee is $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12. The pond will be stocked with hungry rainbow and brown trout. The fishing derby is open to all area adults and children. Bring your own fishing bait. Fishing licenses are not needed and Townsend Rod and Gun Club membership is not required. Ice skating party: 3 p.m., Townsend VFW. All ages invited. A fire will be lit at dusk and once it has cooled town, Townsend VFW Post and Auxiliary members will bring out toastable refreshments for skaters to roast over the embers.

Townsend Ecumenical Outreach food assistance program
TEO is the local food assistance program for those Townsend residents needing a helping hand. TEO has a monthly food distribution program at its 82 Bayberry Hill Road facility, held on the third Saturday of each month. To apply for assistance, call Laurie at 978-597-2549 and she will send you an application.

Well adult clinic
Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Ashby Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held free of charge for the general public on Thursday, Feb. 21, from noon to 1 p.m. at the American Legion, 361 New Ipswich Road.
