Townsend Historical Society's 31st Annual Arts and Crafts Fair: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, on the Town Common. Food, music, arts and crafts.
SUNDAY, SEPT. 16
Band concert: The Townsend Military Band will play an afternoon concert from the bandstand on the Townsend Common at 1 p.m. in conjunction with the Town send Historical Society's annual Arts and Crafts Fair. The public is invited to attend the concert, which is being funded by the Townsend Historical Society. It will conclude at 3 p.m. with the Star Spangled Banner.
Forks over knives
On Sept. 16 from 4 to 6 p.m., there will be a DVD and discussion regarding a new eating lifestyle. This new plan has been known to reverse diabetes, heart disease and obesity as well as improve our quality of life.

The Recycling Center is now charging $1, 2 and $3 for loads of residential debris. Grass clipping and leaves remain free of charge. Please make sure if dumping to follow to the appropriate marked area. Thank you for your cooperation.
