Several local runners will be competing at the State Cross Country Championship meet hosted at Northfield Moutain this weekend.

Among the teams are the Groton-Dunstable girls who will send two runners to the Division 1 State meet. Senior Emma Ordemann qualified for the meet with an 11th place finish at the Division 2 CMass. District meet at Gardner Municipal Golf Course last week completing the 2.9 mile course with a time of 18:47.9. Freshman Emily McAuliffe continues to open the eyes of people in the local running scene with her qualifying time of 18:59.9. The Crusaders finished the meet collectively in fifth place with a combined score of 159.

North Middlesex's Chapel Guarnieri was the lone Patriot from the girls' cross country squad to qualify for the meet with a time of 18:58.7. The Patriots finished in 12th place with a score of 341. On the boys side, Chris Skelly earned himself a spot in the State Championship field with a sixth place finish of 15:11.6

At the Division 2 level, Bromfield sophomore Price Day stole the show as the top finisher completing the 2.9 mile course in just 15:11.1. The Trojans will travel to Northfield Mountain as a team finishing last Saturday with a third-place score of 170.
