WESTFORD -- Shirley's Deborah Kelly and Townsend's Jordan Gingras have been named May's Athletes of the Month at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Deborah Kelly, daughter of Kevin and Cheryl Kelly, is a junior who transferred to Nashoba Tech after her family moved from Michigan -- just in time to help the girls track and field team. Deborah won the discus in the State Vocational Meet with a school-record toss of 96 feet, 5 inches. She also competed in the shot put, which she won at the district meet, and the 400-meter run.
Deborah is in the programming and web development program at Nashoba Tech. She is a high-honors student and a member of mock trial. She was named a Student of the Month earlier this year.
Jordan Gingras, son of Joe and Rachel Gingras, is a sophomore goaltender for the boys lacrosse team. He also plays defense for the hockey team.
Jordan is in the carpentry and cabinetmaking program at Nashoba Tech. He is an honor-roll student and a Kick-Off Mentor for next year's incoming freshmen.
