North Middlesex defeated Narragansett by the score of 4-0 in Senior Babe Ruth action June 20.

Mike Skelly drove a solid double to the left center-field gap to score Andrew Jena from first base in the sixth inning. Jena (2-3, two runs scored) had led off the inning with a sharp single up the middle.

Nick Barry had a double and single. Billy Burns and Kevin Quin each scored a run and both made numerous great defensive plays in the field at shortstop and third base.

Kevin Powell had two solid contacts at the plate and made an outstanding play at third base by snagging a line drive that was destined for the outfield.

Powell's catch was a rally killer since two Narragansett runners were in scoring position.

Pitchers Nick Barry (three innings) and Andrew Jena (four innings ) dominated. They combined on a four-hitter giving up only two walks while striking out five.

Catcher Chris Canning threw out a would-be base stealer in the fifth.

As of this game, North Middlesex is on top of the Montachusetts Senior Babe Ruth League standings with a perfect 4-0 record.
