The ghosts of Christmases past, present and future were on stage at Applewild School's fourth- and fifth-grade radio play.

This was the 21st annual radio play at the school. This year's production was Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," adapted for radio by Anthony E. Palermo.

Keith Planitzer, of Leominster, was one of the narrators and Tia Diekan, of Townsend, played Belle, young Scrooge's former girlfriend.

Phoebe Hager, of Groton, plays Martha Cratchit, Jack Quagliaroli, also of Groton, was Bob Cratchit, Justin Klinkhamer, of Lancaster, was Peter Cratchit, Maggie Cunningham, of Leominster, was Belinda Cratchit, and Eva Sandford, of Westminster, played Mrs. Cratchit

Kevin Brodeur directed the radio play, which is presented in front of a live audience that sees the performers, the sound effects' crew and the directors cuing scenes and music.

Erin Schlesinger, music director, coordinated the musical compositions and arrangements created and performed by the children.
