AYER -- On Tuesday morning, Nov. 5, Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc., in collaboration with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, will present two student assemblies for Ayer-Shirley School District students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 on the topic of cyber safety.
The first assembly for seventh- and eighth-graders is scheduled for 7:45 a.m. at the Ayer-Shirley Middle School auditorium in Shirley and will welcome opening speaker Middlesex District Attorney Marion Ryan.
The assembly presentation entitled "Navigating the Cyber World" is an important opportunity for Ayer and Shirley fifth- through eighth-grade students to become better educated on the online safety topic.
Middlesex Partnerships for Youth department explains, "While there are countless benefits from using technology to communicate, there are also potential serious pitfalls to navigate through. This assembly will give students the tools necessary to protect each person's digital footprint and engage in safe cyber behaviors."
Immediately following the first assembly, a similar presentation on cyber safety will be presented to the fifth- and sixth-grade students from Ayer-Shirley Middle School, Page Hilltop School and Lura A. White School.
