SHIRLEY -- On June 25, the town of Shirley will be holding two elections. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voters will receive two ballots. One ballot will be for the special state election for senator in Congress. The second ballot will be for a special town election and will have three questions on it: a Proposition 2 1/2 capital exclusion question and two Proposition 2 1/2 override questions.
The names of the state candidates and the text of the questions will be posted on the town website and at various locations throughout town.
Absentee ballots for the state election are available now. Absentee ballots for the town election will be available on or about June 4. Absentee ballots must be requested in writing and are available until noon on Monday, June 24.
The last day to register to vote for both elections is Wednesday, June 5. The town clerk's office will be open that day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voter registration forms and absentee ballot request forms are available at the town clerk's office, the library and on the town website at shirley-ma.gov.
