SHIRLEY -- The Historical Society will hold its annual potluck supper and business meeting on Friday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m., at Paul Przybyla's house, 173 Center Road.
After the supper and a brief business meeting, Society President Betsy Colburn Mirkovic will give a short overview of the history of land conservation in Shirley before turning the platform over to Ryan Hrvatin of The Trustees of Reservations.
The Goodspeed-Banks property on Center Road, known as "Farandnear," was left to TTOR by Arthur Banks. Once the estate is settled, the property will be open to the public, and over the coming months TTOR will be seeking public feedback on management of the land.
Ryan will lead a discussion about the property and will be interested to hear what people think about management options. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend. Please carpool if possible, as parking space is limited.
