ASRSD Building Committee public forum 5 -- schematic design: 7 to 9 p.m., ASRMS, Shirley. Join us for the last public forum before the schematic design plan is submitted to MSBA. Learn about the latest design and cost estimates for the project and what will be happening this fall. Everyone is invited.

Shirley Center Farmers Market: Featuring fresh local fruits and vegetables, baked goods, jams and jellies, maple products and honey, Farmstead cheeses, flowers and plants, meat and seafood, fresh eggs, "functional crafts. Live Music! 3-7 p.m. on the Common. Weekly event, July through October.

Penguins Swim Team looking for new members!
The Penguins practice at the Benjamin Hill Pool.
The Shirley Penguins swim team is a Youth Venture that allows kids a creative outlet during the summer. It provides an affordable program for swimmers to take part in during the summer. When It started in '07 with around 35 swimmers, its goal was to get kids into the water and swimming. Now, the Penguins have had over 230 swimmers pass through its program. Just last year we helped found a new swim league that's more local, called the Minute Men Summer Swim League. This new league gives more options for kids to swim closer to home and compete at a comfortable, but challenging level. Our Penguins have competed in summer competitions and just last year took home the 2nd place trophy for our league. This year our goal is to win first place at the summer championship.
