PEPPERELL -- The Pepperell Business Association is pleased to once again host the Summer Concert Series, which is all about music, community and small-town summer fun.
The ice cream social has been so popular in previous years that we are offering it at every concert this summer. We have a wide range of musical styles represented with the 2013 lineup.
July 9: Middle of Nowhere will perform acoustic rock. Our community partner is the Veteran's Statue Committee.
July 16: Christa Renee Band will perform reggae/funk. Our community partner is the EMS Pepperell Fire Department.
July 23: Local favorite Eastwood Peak will perform classic rock. Our community partner is the Pepperell Police Santa Fund.
July 30: The Transistors will perform 60s rock. Our community partner is the Pepperell Historical Society.
August 6: The Bel Aires will perform doo-wop music. Our community partner is the Beacon Lodge Oddfellows.
August 13: The Nashoba Valley Concert Band will perform big band music. Our community partner is the Pepperell Horse Owners Association.
All concerts take place on Tuesday evenings at the bandstand located on the Pepperell Town Field. They begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. If Tuesday brings rain, we will reschedule the concert for Wednesday, the following day. If Wednesday is also a rainy day, then that week's concert will be altogether canceled. (Visit the PBA Facebook page for schedule updates.)
We are grateful to the many local businesses that stepped up to sponsor the program this year. Many local nonprofit groups will benefit from the concert series with fundraising efforts and increased exposure to the public. Each night, our community partners will offer activities, refreshments and attractions to round out the evening.
Please join us. We hope to see you at the bandstand!
