TOWNSEND -- North Middlesex Regional School District Superintendent of Schools Joan Landers will have some tough decisions to make this summer to reorganize the central office after the recent resignations of three key administrators.

Assistant Superintendent Deb Brady, who oversees curriculum, plans to retire at the end of the month. Human Resources Director Barbara Conti tendered her resignation to go back into the field of nursing. And Julie Suprenaunt, manager of Financial Services, has accepted a job in another district.

Landers announced the resignations at Monday night's School Committee meeting, and told the board she's looking at various options to reorganize the entire central office.

School Committee Vice Chairwoman Jonna Clermont said as far as she knows, no decisions have been made on filling the positions yet.

"Things are just different there now," Clermont said. "Some people don't like change. It's quite typical with new leadership."

Landers had been looking through résumés for a curriculum director, Clermont said, but now that the human-resources position is open, the two positions may be combined, she said.

"I'm not sure if Joan wants to combine those positions yet," Clermont said. "She wants to look to see if a different position can be created and switch some of the roles around."

Conti was not at Monday night's meeting.

The committee presented Brady with a bouquet of flowers and thanked her for her dedication to the district. Suprenaunt was at the meeting but did not speak.

Landers was not immediately available for comment Tuesday.
