WESTFORD -- Kelsie Buckley and George Nieves, both juniors from Pepperell, are February's Students of the Month.

Kelsie Buckley, daughter of Jeff Buckley and Kathleen Reynolds, is a junior in the dental assisting program. She is an honor-roll student and a Kick-Off mentor, helping incoming freshmen make a smooth transition into high school. As a sophomore, Kelsie attended the Commonwealth Athletic League's annual Sportsmanship Summit.

She was nominated by English instructor Sheila Carroll, who wrote: "In addition to her exemplary grades and school involvement, Kelsey is an amazing girl. I have twice witnessed Kelsey act with grace and professionalism in serious medical situations. She came to the medical aid of her classmates with the knowledge and confidence of a seasoned professional. Within the classroom, Kelsey participates in classroom activities and discussions fully. She assists her classmates and is always looking to improve her skills."

Kelsie hopes to attend the University of New Haven to study forensic science.

George Nieves, son of George and Persa Nieves, is a junior in the engineering technology program. He is an honor-roll student and a Kick-Off mentor, helping incoming freshmen make a smooth transition into high school. George also plays wide receiver for the football team.

Because of an interest in space and flight, he plans to attend college to study aerospace engineering, and is looking into the University of Massachusetts

Amherst and the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

George was nominated by engineering technology instructor Jeffrey Scheminger, who wrote: "George is a Kick-Off mentor who always goes the extra step to help out fellow students, assists his classmates with work and is the first one to volunteer whenever there is a need."
