Athletic Boosters holding two fundraisers
The North Middlesex Athletics Boosters will be hosting a poker tournament on March 1 at the Townsend VFW. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and event starts promptly at 7 p.m. Great food, raffles and a cash bar. There is a $40 buy-in and unlimited buyback in the first hour. This event will raise funds to supplement the athletic department budget.
Through our ongoing fundraising efforts, we've been able to purchase new uniforms for several teams, additional equipment for several of the programs and made a contribution to purchase The Huddle (a video system primarily used to review events to continue to improve team performance). All of these items and several more on the athletic department "wish list" unfortunately are not included in the budget. We also award scholarships and sponsor the Senior Athletics Awards Banquet at the end of the school year. Please assist us in continuing to provide these additional services through these fundraising efforts and community support.
We have been promoting another great program since November that will continue throughout the school year. Shoebox Recycling is a way to help raise funds without having to take money out of your own pocket. It just takes a moment of your time. Go through your closets and gather all the old, unused but wearable shoes (no flip flops) and drop them off in the North Middlesex High School lobby in our donation boxes. We are also looking for public drop-off centers. If anyone is interested in placing a donation box at their business, please let us know. We will gladly advertise, drop off and pick up the boxes as needed.
