On Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center, the Pepperell Garden Club will begin its new season with the annual plant swap. Bring an unwanted indoor or outdoor plant and swap it for another. The program and business meeting is open to all. New members and guests are always invited from all towns.

If you love flowers or working in your yard, you may want to consider joining the Pepperell Garden Club or attending an informative lecture or two.

Monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month from September through June. Meetings at the Pepperell Senior Center on Route 111 at 7 p.m.

Many members knew little about gardening when they joined but have learned great deal from the informative programs. There are many friendly members of all ages and from many towns. Delicious refreshments are always served. The annual dues are $15 or come and pay a $5 guest fee for the evening.

The Pepperell Garden Club is an active organization, dating back as early as 1968. Some of the members take care of the flowers at the rotary and at Town Hall. A few of the members have worked on Main Street beautification. Have you noticed the beautiful landscaping near the clock and the rail trail? Many members attend garden safaris to enjoy the beauty of local gardens. Best of all the Pepperell Garden Club has its well known annual plant sale in May. The community enjoyed the Art in Bloom held at the Lawrence Library in April.

Club does not pressure members into volunteering on projects. They enjoy a year of informative programs, meeting new friends, and community beautification. Members can choose to do as much or as little as they want. The more they do, the more fun they have. That's what makes it a great organization. Hope to see you at the meeting.
