Refreshments will be served at 9 a.m.; the meeting will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. All members, old, new, and prospective, are invited to learn about and sign up for our activities, service projects and trips.
This year the Hollis Woman's Club will sponsor the annual Apple Pie Bake-off as part of the Old Home Days celebration on Saturday, Sept. 15. There will be three entry divisions: Children ages 12 and under, students ages 13 to 21, and adults ages 22 and over. Details and rules can be found on either the Hollis Old Home Days or the Hollis Woman's Club website.
Preparations are also underway for our annual Apple Festival to be held on Sunday, October 7th from 2 - 4 p.m. at Monument Square; this is another collaborative effort with the Hollis Town Band. Apple crisp desserts and pies will be served as customers are entertained with musical favorites, old and new! Proceeds from this event are used to support local charities and to sponsor two scholarships which will be awarded at the end of this school year to Hollis - Brookline students; a third alternative scholarship will be awarded to an older woman who intends to pursue a college degree.
