The library will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. starting on Sept. 8.

Back to school: The library is here 24/7 for all your research needs! Start with these resources just for kids and teens and links for homework help, or browse through the magazine and newspaper databases. There's encyclopedias and biographies, literature, history, health, and much more.

Donations needed: Do you have any LEGOs that your kids don't play with anymore? We are starting a new LEGOs club for kids, and need your donations to help us get it started! Also, we could use any old costume jewelry or watches for craft programs.

Banned Books Week: Sept. 30-Oct. 6: We'll have some special programs and displays exploring banned and challenged books.

Interested in volunteering? We are looking for adult volunteers to help with shelving. Must be available on a weekly basis during regular library hours. Email tmcevoy@cwmars.org if you are interested.

Coming up: In the Art Gallery: Susan Carpenter, Sept. 8-Oct. 14. The next exhibit at the Lawrence Library Art Gallery will feature oil paintings by local artist Susan Carpenter, along with watercolors and pen and ink drawings. At her studio in her Amherst, N.H., home, Susan has been focusing on landscapes and portraits in oils. She says, "I love being able to create a likeness, and the exhilaration that comes from bringing the canvas to life."
