TOWNSEND -- Selectmen have announced a vacancy on the North Middlesex Regional School Committee following the resignation of Schuyler Minckler.

At the committee's June 26 meeting, Chairman Sue Robbins read a letter from Minckler to the board. In it, Minckler announced her formal resignation on July 12.

"Thank you so much for kind wishes of support, you are a wonderful and welcoming group," Robbins read. "But my husband and I have recently decided to move to Colorado."

Both selectmen and the School Committee are seeking qualified applicants to fill the Pepperell member vacancy.

Interested persons may forward a letter of interest outlining qualifications for the position on or before Tuesday, July 31, to the secretary of the North Middlesex Regional School Committee, c/o Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 45 Main St., Pepperell, MA 01463.
