I am proud to support the election of Anna Eliot as a Board of Selectmen representative.
I have only known Anna for approximately four years, but it seemed every time I attended an event, fundraiser or a meeting in town, Anna was there to provide support to the initiatives of the event and looked to see where she could participate or how she could help. Her presence at these events acknowledges the love and dedication she has for the town and its people, and the activities that are important to them and their families.
Anna has been a selectman for the past six years. Her prior experience with the Planning Board, her background, knowledge and leadership skills, coupled with a balanced approach in making critical decisions, and her ability to work collaboratively with the town, its people and businesses, are all key to her success to help foster growth and improvement while still maintaining a community for the benefit of those who reside in Groton.
Anna's election as a selectman will allow her to continue to build the working relationships with the town, businesses and residents. One of her focuses is to change Groton's image by making it more business-friendly. The 134 Main Street development and the proposed new Groton Inn have triggered a valuable enhancement to the downtown area. Anna initiated the Economic Development Committee and is a member of the Groton Board of Trade. Her goal is to work with businesses to foster growth that is in scale with the town's rural character.
Please get out and vote for Anna Eliot on Tuesday, May 20. Her commitment and dedication will continue to make Groton a better place for all of us.
