Thanks to the generosity of our communities and the hard work of more than 75 volunteers, 355 local families received all of the fixings for their Thanksgiving dinner, complete with a frozen turkey, stuffing, gravy, pie, cranberry sauce, juice and fresh vegetables, during our annual Thanksgiving dinner distribution event on Monday, Nov. 18.

We are now busy preparing for our holiday dinner distribution event on Monday, Dec. 16. Thanks to the overwhelming response we received to our recent request for frozen turkey donations, we have enough turkeys! We are still in need of certain food items such as hams (fresh or canned, three pounds and up), frozen pies (apple/berry), canned pineapple slices, turkey and chicken broth, nuts/fancy crackers/fancy snacks, ham glaze, yams, stuffing, 100 percent juice, coffee and cocoa.

Donations for this event will be accepted on Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 15, from 1-3 p.m. at 234 Barnum Road, Devens. Donations are also accepted any time the pantry is open.

For more information on other ways you can help provide a brighter holiday season for our neighbors in need, please call 978-772-4627, ext. 300, to inquire about our donor and volunteer opportunities, or visit our website at loavesfishespantry.org.

On behalf of the board of trustees, staff, volunteers and especially our clients, we wish to extend our appreciation to our communities and wish all a happy, healthy and wonderful holiday season!
