As of June 30, the Finance Committee will have an open position.
The Finance Committee is the financial eyes and ears of the Ayer taxpayer. We serve the legislative body of town meeting by reviewing activity, providing information and making recommendations on all financial matters.
The committee is also responsible for drafting financial policies, preparing town-wide budgets and overseeing financial processes.
The committee meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Additional meetings occur during budget preparation and prior to town meeting.
The Finance Committee is appointed by the moderator after recommendation by a review committee. A member of the Finance Committee must be a registered voter in the town of Ayer. Committee members cannot hold an elected office in town or be a town employee. Financial experience is recommended, but not required.
