In the recent days since filing my nomination papers, I have received an outpouring of support from many people who have thanked me for entering the race for the Board of Selectmen. I have been truly humbled by their kindness and expression of confidence. I have also been asked by a few supporters whether, if elected, I have the resolve to serve for an entire three-year term. The answer to this question is yes.

In August of 2009, I left the BOS after 18 months of service because I was facing a "perfect storm" of serious challenges that demanded my full attention. One was personal, one was business related and the third was a health problem. At that time I realized that dealing with all three would require my full attention, leaving little time for much else. It was also clear to me that I could not adequately discharge my duties on the BOS while dealing with these issues. This was a very hard decision for me to make. I had greatly enjoyed participating in town government and helping improve the lives of the people of Harvard. I also knew that these problems were my responsibility to deal with. So I offer this by way of explanation, not as an excuse.

Over the last few years with the love and support of my family, each of these challenges have been met. In this I have been truly blessed. Now I am seeking your support to pick up where I left off and finish the job. I pledge that if you entrust me with your vote, I will serve faithfully, fully and to the best of my ability.
