With the economy as it is and with fuel prices consistently rising, the need for fuel assistance is more urgent than ever. Many senior residents that receive fuel assistance will run out long before the winter is over. Others are keeping their heat dangerously low in fear of running out.

If you would like to make a donation to help those Groton senior residents in need of additional fuel assistance, you can make a check payable to: The Friends of the Groton Elders, P.O. Box 289, Groton, MA 01472 (memo: fuel assistance).

The donations will go only to those residents that have already used and/or run out of their Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

If you, or if you know of a Groton senior resident that may need fuel assistance, please call the Groton Senior Center to set up an appointment with me to complete an application. If your fuel assistance is close to running out, please call me regarding additional assistance that may be available at 978-448-1170. Please be assured that all information remains completely confidential.
