On Nov. 6, the country held an historic presidential election. You may like or dislike the results, but feel proud that Groton did its civic duty. We experienced an 81 percent voter turnout, with 6,325 voters coming to the polls or voting by absentee ballot. Thank you to the voters of Groton for an outstanding representation!

You may have noticed our new "Vote Today" signs placed around town on Election Day. I would like to thank members of the Democratic and Republican Town Committees for volunteering to post them. They were up early and picking them up late.

Election results for the town are available at www.townofgroton.org.

MICHAEL BOUCHARD
