Where are our state reps, senators?

One of Massachusetts' biggest embarrassments is the Concord Route 2 Rotary.

Every A.M. and P.M. the traffic is backed up two to three miles in all direction, making one of the worst daily traffic nightmares in the state.

Commuters coming from as far away as Ashburnham, Fitchburg, Leominster, Shirley, Ayer, Ayer, Westford, Groton and Littleton all converge at the Route 2 Rotary, trying to get to their respective jobs in Boston, also from Route 128 and from the east to Route 495.

I realize there are other priorities in the state but one must raise the question, why all the accent on the Sagamore bypass in Wareham for people who are using the bridge primarily for recreation and after Oct. 1, the Sagamore traffic dwindles down to nothing.

Interesting enough, I served in World War II in Europe under Patton's Third Army. When we got to a river or a blown bridge or obstruction, we would call the Corps of Engineers and within 24 hours they had a Bailey or a bar joist steel bridge higher than what you would need at the Concord Rotary, enough for 80-ton tanks to go over. I see by the news article by Emma Johnson (Boston Globe, Sept. 20), they are using the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to assist with the Sagamore bypass.

When you go up Route 2 West, Route 110, Route 2A, Route 495, they are rebuilding miles of highways under the new federal funding programs.

Why aren't they working on the Route 2 Rotary?

One should raise the question: Where

are our state representatives and senators and town councilmen and women who represent these areas? Such as Acton, Littleton, Groton, Concord and those of other surrounding towns affected by this problem?
