AYER -- The 12th annual "In A Manger" nativity exhibition at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Ayer, will be open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The exhibit will be held in the Parish Hall, 7 Faulkner St. in Ayer.

"This year more than 400 nativity sets from around the world will be on display," said Carolyn Smith, event coordinator. "Some of the nativity scenes are family heirlooms, and others are folk art nativity sets collected by parishioners and area residents."

There will be a wide variety of tabletop and miniature nativities, as well as a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments of nativity scenes.

According to Smith, "This event is a wonderful opportunity for children and adults to become more familiar and involved with the true meaning of Christmas. This is truly a family event."

The public is also welcome to loan a favorite nativity scene or ornament for display.

Other highlights of the day include a children's activity table, homemade cookies and cider, and a nativity raffle. Admission is free.
