STILL RIVER -- The Saint Benedict Center will host its annual Fall Bazaar to fundraise for the construction of a new gymnasium for the Immaculate Heart of Mary School.

Gym construction has been going on for four years, and is expected to be finished in June 2014.

"It's taken a while because it is all done through donations," Sister Katherine Maria said.

The Fall Bazaar will host its "old-fashioned, country-style" event under two large tents in hopes of funding the final steps of the project.

There is no cost to attend the event. Sister Katherine Maria said there will be plenty of food and goods to enjoy at a reasonable price.

The Sisters have baked over 70 pies already, "and they will probably make about 70 more," Sister Katherine Maria said.

Other baked goods for sale include, Sister Katherine Maria's favorite apple pizzas.

"It's like a crumb-topping pizza, but it's much better than a pie," she said.

Families from the IHM School will make other edible goodies including Korean egg rolls, old-fashioned Southern corndogs and provide a candy booth.

The event will also include a large yard sale and antique booth of donated goods from members of the community.

"Everybody is pitching in," Sister Katherine Maria said. "There's also a clothing and jewelry section and some books for sale. We're like one big family."

There will be a raffle table, face-painting, balloon toss, bounce house and craft table. A country folk DJ will provide entertainment throughout the day.

"There are always a ton of kids running around; it's a fun day for families," Sister Katherine Maria said.

The Fall Bazaar will be held at 282 Still River Road on Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Everyone is welcome.

If you would like to donate goods for the yard sale, please contact Sister Katherine Maria at 978-456- 3236.
