HARVARD -- The School Committee Monday approved updated student handbooks for Hildreth Elementary School and The Bromfield School, presented by the school principals.
The handbooks contain rules covering field trips, expected behavior, and at the high school level, graduation requirements.
Handbooks are prepared by the principal with input from the school council and distributed to every student. They are reviewed annually.
Under district policy, the school council is required to review the handbook every spring and "to consider changes in the disciplinary policy" that would take effect at the start of the next school year.
District rules require handbooks to conform to School Committee policies and "be of a quality that reflects credit on the school department."
