HARVARD - Parents of students at Hildreth Elementary School received ConnectEd telephone calls on Sunday, alerting parents of the sudden passing of long-time kindergarten teacher BarbaraAnn Gould. HES Principal Dr. Linda Dwight notified parents that Gould accidentally drowned Saturday night in a hot tub.

Grief councilors are to be on hand when the school opens on Monday. But in advance of classes on Monday, Dwight asked parents to talk with their children about the tragedy before attending school on Monday.

"The teachers in every grade level will be prepared to talk with the students and refer them on to grief counselors in the school, as needed," said Dwight. Parents were also emailed links to resources on how to broach the subjects of death and loss with young students.

Gould is survived by her husband, Jeff Gould, and daughter Darby Gould, who is a senior at Nashoba Regional High School.

Funeral arrangements have been planned for 10:30 on Saturday, March 23rd at the Unitarian Church in Harvard. This will be followed by a reception at Fellowship Hall.
