HARVARD - While you chomp at the bit for springtime, how about buying a box or two of fresh citrus from the Sunshine State? The Harvard Lions Club is in the midst of its annual orange and grapefruit sale.a
The fruit is farm-fresh, picked days before its delivery to Harvard and refrigerated courtesy of Carlson's Orchards of Harvard to maintain its freshness. Proceeds benefit the Lions charities.
Royal ruby red grapefruit and Valencia oranges are being sold. Both are available in 20-pound ($25) and 40-pound (38) boxes. Or buy a mixed box of fruit - $26 for a 20 pound mixed fruit box.
It's cash and carry from the point of purchase. You can buy your oranges and grapefruits this Sat. and Sunday, March 16 & 17, in the Harvard town center. On Saturday, the Lions will also be at the Harvard and Boxborough Transfer Stations.
The Lions mission is to support charities aiding the blind and visually impaired, families with disabled or terminally ill children and many other organizations that help those in need. Visit www.HarvardLions.org.
