HARVARD -- After successfully establishing the Harvard Farmers Market, Jen Sundeen and Rochelle Greayer have gone on to re-establish the Canning & Evaporating Club, a once thriving offshoot of Clara Endicott Sears and the Harvard Woman's Club.
Canning, smoking and drying food went out of favor as freezing food became ever more popular. However, with the cost of energy increasing, a growing number of people are thinking up alternatives. For those growing more of their own food, Jen and Rochelle will help you step up to the challenge of an affordable alternative to freezing the excess bounty from your vegetable gardens.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program at 12:15 p.m. at St. Theresa's Parish Hall, 15 Still River Road. All are welcome. For membership information, call Sue Guswa at 978-456-8580.
