The Economic Development Committee invites residents to a public forum on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in Volunteer's Hall. Key issues the Committee will discuss with you include: a grocery store in the Commercial (C) district; future C district planning projects; and your ideas for our future programming.

The committee is developing a "white paper" that studies a grocery store -- can one locate in the C district now and under what circumstances that might become a reality, and are there regulatory or infrastructure changes that the town needs to make first. Public input for this project is important to the committee before it completes its work.

The committee is thinking of potential planning projects that might be undertaken based on the recommendations generated in Phase I of the Master Plan, or that might increase the Town's understanding of our expectations for the C district. The Committee's potential ideas include a market study and/or a visual buildout analysis of the C district. The committee invites feedback on these ideas and invites other suggestions.

The committee would like to hear from residents as to what you would like us to focus on in 2013. All ideas are welcome. If you are not able to attend but would like to contact the Committee with questions, ideas or feedback, please email us at edc@harvard.ma.us.
