AYER -- Ayer police made three drunk driving arrests over three consecutive days -- Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, Dec. 21 at 4:42 p.m., Officers Brian Cunningham and Richard Krasinskas were called to the parking lot of Sovereign Bank at the corner of Park and Main streets downtown. Upon arrival the officers suspected the driver was operating under the influence of alcohol. After asking the man to perform field sobriety tests, 53-year-old Walter McCurley of Gardner was arrested and charged with following too closely, a missing license plate and his third OUI/Liquor offense.

On Saturday, Dec. 22 at 6:44 p.m., Krasinskas stopped a vehicle on Fitchburg Road for speeding. The officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and conducted field sobriety tests. Thereafter, 34-year old Amy Lee Pasciuto of Littleton was placed under arrest for speeding and OUI/Liquor.

And on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 10:45 p.m., Krasinskas stopped a vehicle on West Main Street for speeding. The officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and conducted field sobriety tests. The operator, Michael Morse of Sandy Pond Road, who celebrates his 22 birthday on Christmas Day, was likewise arrested for OUI/Liquor.
