HARVARD -- The League of Women Voters of Harvard and the Harvard Schools Trust announce the upcoming Harvard Flea Market to be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m.-4 .m. on the grounds of the Bromfield School (rain date: Sunday, Oct.7). Parking and restrooms will be available. Admission is a $3 donation per person; a $1 donation per child ages 6-12 and adults ages 65 plus; and a $5 donation for early birds (before 9 a.m.).

Each year, several thousand bargain hunters attend this landmark event to select from a wide variety of items in over 170 booths, including antiques, vintage jewelry, Blu-ray DVDs and games, Henna tattoos, fossils and minerals, horse tack, coins, vintage postcards, collectibles, memorabilia, furniture, glass, household items, sports equipment, toys, clothing, farmer's market items and more. Many nonprofits will be selling refreshments, including Thai and Spanish cuisine, the Lions Club hamburgers and hot dogs, and Pies on the Common at the Congregational Church Apple Festival.

"The tradition of the Harvard Flea Market is as vibrant today as it was over 40 years ago. But even the most honored traditions can be improved upon. This year we will ask visitors for their email addresses so we can begin using technology to update flea market fans on the latest event news," said Chrissy Yoo, 2012 Harvard Flea Market co-chairwoman.

This is the fifth consecutive year that the Harvard Schools Trust is co-sponsoring the flea market with the League of Women Voters of Harvard (LWV). All net proceeds from the Harvard Flea Market will be evenly split between the HST and LWV.
