GROTON -- "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas."

Well, thankfully, not quite yet. But it is beginning to look a lot like rehearsal time once more for our annual Groton Community Christmas Concert that we offer to the community.

New choir members, both adult and children, are welcome and there are no auditions. Choir members hail from Groton and many surrounding communities.

Founded in 1974 by director Edie Tompkins, this year marks the 39th performance of these delightful concerts. The choirs will meet for its first rehearsal on Sunday evening, Sept. 29.

Important information to know is:

* Senior Choir, for adults of all ages, including high-school students, meets from 7-9 p.m.

* Treble Choir, for boys and girls in third through eighth grades, meets from 4:30-6:15 p.m.

* Rehearsals continue every Sunday from Sept. 29-Dec. 8.

* Performance dates are: Sunday, Dec. 15 (at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.); Monday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
