Hot dry summers, warm dry winters and water bans all add up to the need for water-wise gardening techniques, including proper watering, the use of drought-tolerant plants, rain barrels and even the creation of rain gardens.

The Groton Garden Club, in conjunction with the Groton Trust Fund Lecture series invites the public to join them on Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m. in the MacNeil Lounge at Lawrence Academy for a presentation on water-wise gardening by noted authority Paul Steen.

The Garden Club's 90th Anniversary Committee will be serving goodies and will display a photo archive.
