Font ResizeHUDSON, N.H. -- A Groton teen is one of two facing charges after police say an egg struck a moving police cruiser last Saturday night.
Hudson police said in a prepared statement that Officer Scott MacDonald was driving north on Derry Street in a marked cruiser Saturday about 9:55 p.m. when someone in a Honda Ridgeline heading south threw an egg that struck the cruiser.
The egg struck the driver's-side headlight but caused no damage, according to police.
MacDonald turned around, pulled the Honda over and determined that Griffin Scanlon, 17, of Groton, was driving, and that passenger Clyde Boykin, 17, of Nashua, N.H., had thrown the egg.
Boykin was charged with reckless conduct. Scanlon was charged with criminal liability for the conduct of another. Both were released on personal recognizance and are scheduled to appear March 28 in Nashua District Court.
Police ask anyone else whose vehicle was struck by an egg in the area of Derry Street (Route 102) on Saturday night to call police at 603-886-6011.
"The Hudson Police Department would also like to remind the public that throwing things at moving vehicles creates a hazardous situation in which people could be injured or killed as a result," police said in a prepared statement. "People who do throw things at moving vehicles are subject to serious charges if caught."
