GROTON -- At its recent meeting, the Groton-Dunstable Regional School Committee:
Voted to appoint a new screening committee charged with receiving and reviewing applications for school superintendent. The new group's membership is to include representatives from Groton's and Dunstable's boards of selectmen, teachers and school administrators, parents and citizens. The deadline for submission of applications is Tuesday, with preliminary interviews of candidates by the committee for Dec. 14. After a finalist has been appointed by the School Committee, the new full-time superintendent is expected to began work on July 1.
Voted to approve field trips for the high school's ice-hockey team and boys and girls' basketball teams. Hockey players are expected to arrive in Bourne on Nov. 30 and hold scrimmages with area teams before returning Dec. 2. Basketball players will attend a Basketball Jamboree in Harwick where they will arrive Nov. 30 and return Dec. 2.
