Absentee ballot applications for the Tuesday, Nov. 6, presidential election are now available at the Town Clerk's Office.

We are accepting applications for absentee ballots. Ballots will be mailed once received by the Town Clerk from the commonwealth. Monday, Nov. 5 at noon is the last day and hour to request an absentee ballot. All absentee ballots must be received by the Town Clerk by election day in order for us to count them.

Massachusetts allows voters to vote by absentee ballot if they:

-- Will be absent from your city or town on election day, and/or

-- Have a physical disability that prevents your voting at the polling place, and/or

-- Cannot vote at the polls due to religious beliefs.

The voter registration deadline for the presidential election is Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. This applies to new voters only. Currently registered voters do not have to re-register.

Please contact the Town Clerk's office at 978-448-1100 or townclerk@townofgroton.org if you would like more information.
