GROTON -- Summer may be over, but it's not too late for a garden party.

On Friday, Sept. 14, the Groton Woman's Club will hold its first meeting of the 2012-13 year at the home of Audrey Bryce, 564 Longley Road. The luncheon will start at 11:30 a.m., rain or shine.

The Woman's Club is meeting a week earlier than usual, as members will be busy making pies for their booth at Grotonfest on the third Friday of this month. This is a big year for the Groton Woman's Club founded by Miss Georgiana Boutwell, as March 2013 will mark its 100th anniversary. Many special events are being planned to mark this milestone.

For information about the Woman's Club, and/or membership inquiries, contact membership Chairman Audrey Bryce at 978-272-1172, Audrey.Bryce@yahoo.com, or President Susan Slade at 978-449-9389, sslade@charter.net.
