Going on a cruise? Attending a wedding? Don't sit and watch the others have fun. Ballroom dancing has reappeared on the scene as folks have rediscovered how much fun it is. It's great physical and mental exercise and is a marvelous way to make new friends.

Back by popular demand, Peg and Earl Russell are conducting a ballroom dance workshop to benefit the Groton Senior Center. The workshops will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and extend for eight weeks. Lessons will begin with two-step and waltz, moving on to Latin and swing. The classes will not be progressive, so attending any evening will feature another dance step and a review of learned rhythms.

Admission is $5, and the classes take place at the lower level of the Groton Senior Center from 7 to 9 p.m. Break out your dancing shoes and come for a fun time. Singles or couples are welcome. Adults of any age are encouraged to attend. For information call the senior center at 448-1170 or the Russells at 448-5822.
