This is an event that many seniors look forward to. In addition, Donoghue, Harrington, as well as their staffs, find spending time at the senior center very rewarding. This BBQ is the perfect opportunity for seniors and other Groton residents to share their feelings on issues with the legislators that represent them on Beacon Hill. This BBQ is a free event. Annual Boy Scout Yard Sale

Once again Troop 1 W. Groton will hold a HUGE yard sale on Labor Day, Sept. 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at H&V Field, Townsend Road (between routes 225 & 119), West Groton, as part of the Firemen's Muster.

Donation dropoff: Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Squannacook Hall, and Sunday, Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (preferred) at H&V field.

New Town Hall Hours

In an effort to make Town Hall more accessible to our residents who work full time and cannot get to Town Hall during normal business hours, the Board of Selectmen have voted, effective Sept. 10, to change the Town Hall Hours as follows:

Monday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Murder, mystery dinner theatre at the Christian Union Church

This comedy entitled "Murder, Mayhem and the Marshmallow Salad" will keep you roaring.

The date: Sat. Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. Come, eat dinner with the actors/actresses. Menu includes appetizers, baked chicken breast dinner, dessert along with laughter (provided by you).

There is also audience participation. See if you can guess who the murderer might be.

Tickets must be purchased in advance for $25 per person. No refunds.

Open House at Sunshine School

There will be an Open House for preschool and pre-K on Weds., Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to noon. Sunshine School is a theme-based learning program housed in the new addition of the First Parish Church of Groton.
