The Groton Historical Society is pleased to again offer an evening bus tour of several selected sites in Groton on Tuesday, July 10.
The focus of this year's tour will be a celebration of the life, work, and legacy of William P. Wharton. A lifelong resident and benefactor of Groton, Mr. Wharton (1880 - 1976) was an eminent pioneer in the fields of conservation, forestry management, and ornithology.
Participants will enjoy historical interpretation at each stop and homemade strawberry shortcake and ice cream at the final stop on the tour.
The bus tour will leave Boutwell House (172 Main St., Groton) at 6:30 p.m. and return to the same location by 9 p.m.
A donation of $10 (for GHS members) or $15 (for nonmembers) is requested. Space is limited and reservations are required.
It is best to email your reservation request to hostess@grotonhistoricalsociety.org. Otherwise, you may call the society at 978-448-0092.
