Free Dinner, Live Music and Good Company: All are welcome to the next Groton Community Dinner at First Parish Church, located at the intersection of routes 40 and 119 in Groton. Dinner is served continuously from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Come for live music, delicious food and good company. The menu for June 29 includes house salad, chicken fajitas or vegetable fajitas with onions, peppers, cheese, tortillas, black bean and corn salad, salsa, chips, guacamole and strawberry shortcake with whipped cream. Fireworks! Save the date! Groton's 4th of July Fireworks extravaganza will be held at the Town Field, behind the Groton Public Library. Doors open at 6 p.m. with hamburgers and hot dogs, ice cream, music and entertainment. Fireworks start at dusk.
