EXIT Assurance Realty offered its EXIT Helping Heroes program to more than 300 military service members at the Hanscom AFB Heroes Homecoming Picnic in Bedford.

The base-wide event celebrated service members who have returned from deployment in the past year with ceremonies, a parade and a picnic. After the picnic, people enjoyed free swimming at the pool, a home run derby, live music at The Tavern and more.

It was estimated that approximately 2,000 people attended.

"It was great to offer help, and give back to the servicemembers. It was also great to have our participating Realtors there, too. We did it as a team," said Jeff Gordon, broker/owner of EXIT Assurance Realty in Groton. Sadie Guichard, Joe Fiorentino, Caroline Bouris, Kris Kramer, Johanna Castillo-Matos and Paul Farynaz were there representing EXIT Assurance Realty.

EXIT Helping Heroes is a program in which EXIT Assurance Realty gives back 25 percent of its sales commission to an eligible hero; active and retired military servicemembers, police and firemen, doctors, nurses and related medical professionals, EMTs, first responders and teachers.

Gordon and participating Realtors at EXIT Assurance Realty adopted the Heroes Home Advantage in April.
