Townsend Rec seeking FallFest vendors

Townsend Recreation: We are looking for FallFest vendors! Food ( food truck?), organizations, small businesses, arts & crafters, etc. We would also love to have local farmers participate this year with pumpkins, corn stalks and other seasonal items.

Event will be held on the Townsend Common on Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space is $25.

Ballroom Dance Classes

Do you love to ballroom dance? Would you like to learn how to ballroom dance?

Come join Ballroom & Latin Dance Instructor and Coach Francis Floyd to learn how to ballroom dance! Francis Floyd has been dancing since 1990 and teaching Ballroom Dance since 1993. He teaches all four styles of Ballroom and Latin dancing and competes in pro-am competitions throughout the United States.

Townsend Fire-EMS Relief Association Golf Outing Sept. 6

The 4th Annual Townsend Fire-EMS Relief Association Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6. Last year we raised over $13,000 for MGH Colon and Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Foxwoods Casino trip Sept. 11

The Friends of the Townsend Seniors are planning a trip to Foxwoods on Thursday, Sept. 11. The cost of the trip is $28, which includes the round-trip bus from Townsend, and coupons for the buffet lunch and free-play.

The trip is open to all area adults. It's always a fun trip and you are invited to come with friends. Sign-up and prepaid registration may be made by calling Avis Roy at 978-597-6829 or the Townsend Senior Center, 978-597-1710.

Singer/guitarist Dan Kirouac returns LIVE Sept. 12, 8:30 p.m.

Dan Kirouac has been part of the regional music scene for 30 years. When not busy with the tribute band BEATLES FOR SALE, solo performances showcase vocals accompanied by a six-string acoustic guitar. From the one-hit wonders to the lost classics, from the 1960s to today, every show is a different experience, drawing from almost 500 contemporary and oldie rock and pop songs. Lobster Bake and Chicken BBQ Sept. 13

A Lobster Bake and Chicken BBQ is being hosted by the Friends of Townsend Seniors for Townsend seniors and members of the Friends. It will be held at Townsend VFW, Saturday, Sept. 13, noon to 4 p.m.

There will be live entertainment by Andy Ross; the afternoon promises to be a lot of fun.

Tickets are $10 and are on sale through Sept. 5. It's expected they'll go quickly.

Arts and Crafts Fair Sept. 13, 14

The Townsend Historical Society's 33rd Annual Arts and Crafts Fair will be held on Townsend's historic town common on Sept. 13 and 14. The event opens at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday, ending in the late afternoon. Everyone's invited to come and enjoy the two-day fair featuring beautiful hand-crafted products, demonstrations, live music and good food.

Well adult clinic Sept. 18 in Ashby

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Ashby Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held free of charge for the general public on Thursday, Sept. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. at the American Legion, 361 New Ipswich Road.
