In accordance with MA DEP's revised Water Management Act Permit issued to MassDevelopment, a mandatory water restriction is now in place.

The restriction occurs whenever the USGS local stream gauge #01096500 -- Nashua River at East Pepperell -- is below a specified trigger point for three consecutive days.

Signage has been posted at the entrances to Devens and will remain in place for as long as the restrictions are in place.

Nonessential water use is now restricted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and includes the following uses:

* Irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems.

* Washing of vehicles, except in a commercial car wash or as necessary for operator safety.

* Washing of external building surfaces, parking lots, driveways or sidewalks, except as necessary to apply surface treatments such as paint, preservatives, stucco, pavement or cement.
